Public Comment

The President's New Freedom Commission on Mental Health has solicited public comment from stakeholders in the mental health community since July 2002. The purpose of obtaining public comment was to assist the Commission in formulating an action plan for the President that would improve America's mental health service delivery system.

The public comment section of this website is now closed as the Commission is concluding its work on April 29, 2003. The Commission deeply appreciates the nearly 2,500 comments, personal stories and recommendations submitted via this website, letters, e-mail, and in-person testimony by consumers, parents, family members, advocates, service providers, educators, researchers, and other concerned individuals. Your insightful and heartfelt comments have strengthened and helped shape the work of the President's New Freedom Commission on Mental Health.
